Home/Take Action

ACLU-TN is a constant presence at the state capitol during the Tennessee General Assembly session, working to advance legislation that expands or protects our civil liberties and fighting against bills that infringe on our freedoms. But your voice is essential. You can check out highlights of our work at Legislative Plaza and take action on a range of issues below.

This year we expect state legislators, emboldened by the hateful actions of the White House, to introduce bills that would harm immigrants and refugees, women, gay and transgender people, and racial and religious minorities. We are also pursuing pro-active initiatives that will increase access to the ballot box; stop discrimination within the criminal justice system based on economic status; and reform the criminal justice system in the areas of juvenile justice, mental health, reentry and more. Thank you for standing with us during this legislative session.
