“Does Our System of Justice Work? Wrongful Convictions and the Breakdown of Due Process”

One of the most frightening aspects of the death penalty is the possibility that an innocent person may be executed. You can hear former death row inmates share their stories of harrowing miscarriages of justice that almost cost them their lives at a roundtable discussion on Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Scarritt-Bennett Conference Center’s Fondren Hall.

The Tennessee Coalition to Abolish State Killing is organizing the program, “Does Our System of Justice Work? Wrongful Convictions and the Breakdown of Due Process.” Co-sponsors are: ACLU-TN, The Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Death Penalty Representation Project of the ABA.

Scarritt-Bennett is located at 1008 19th Avenue South in Nashville. For more information, please call the ACLU-TN office at 615-320-7142.
