Barry Lynn to Speak on "One Nation under Whose God"

On Sunday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Barry Lynn, well-known executive director of Americans United (AU) will speak in Harambee Auditorium of Scarritt-Bennett Center, 1008 19th Avenue South, Nashville. Lynn is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ as well as an attorney. His topic will be: "One Nation Under Whose God? Religion & Politics in 2004."
An accomplished speaker and lecturer, Lynn has appeared frequently on television and radio broadcasts to debate and discuss First Amendment issues. News programs on which he has appeared include The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, The Today Show, Nightline, CNN's Crossfire, The Phil Donahue Show, Good Morning America, national nightly news from NBC, ABC and CBS, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Firing Line, and Larry King Live. He also served for two years as regular co-host of "Pat Buchanan and Company" on the Mutual Broadcasting System, and as the Friday co-host of "Common Sense with Col. Oliver North" until North’s recent retirement from radio. Lynn now hosts his own daily syndicated show called "Cultureshocks."
Lynn is the co-author of The Right to Religious Liberty. He writes frequently on First Amendment issues, appearing in such publications as USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Nation, American Teacher and Liberty. His op-eds are often published by Knight-Ridder and Scripps-Howard newspaper chains.
