in Nashville

Dear Friends,

While this is not an ACLU-sponsored event, we thought you would be interested in the following information.

Enemy Combatant Doctrine Protest - Concerned citizens are gathering on Saturday, April 24 to speak out against a precedent being set that would validate the administration's policy of detaining citizens without a hearing and without access to counsel. The Bush administration contends that if the President identifies a person an 'Enemy Combatant', the person loses these basic Constitutional rights. The United States Supreme Court will hear a case on April 28th to decide the fate of the Enemy Combatant Doctrine. Protestors will gather at the Federal Building, 801 Broadway, Nashville from 12:00 to 1:00PM. For more information, please send an email to PhillipV@adveng.com.
