Bill of Rights Celebration
ACLU-TN's annual Bill of Rights Celebration will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the University Club in Nashville. At this year's event, Rodney Crowell, Grammy Award-winning singer, recording artist, and member of the Nashville Songwriters' Hall of Fame, will join with ACLU-TN to celebrate the fundamental values of freedom and equality. In addition, Duke University Law Professor Erwin Chemerinsky will speak about the dramatic changes we may soon face at the United State Supreme Court. His extensive experience arguing cases in front of the Supreme Court gives him a valuable perspective that he will share. The 2005 ACLU-TN Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dr. Charles Kimbrough and Dr. Blondell Strong for their decades of leadership in civil rights, death penalty, and voting rights conflicts. The 2005 ACLU-TN Bill of Rights Award will be given to Don Dawson for his enduring commitment to equal access to justice. The Bill of Rights Celebration will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the silent auction. Dinner and the program will follow at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $85 per person and a table for ten is $850. Seating is limited - reserve your tickets now! Call the ACLU-TN office at 615-320-7142 or print out and return the form below to purchase tickets.
