NEW ROBERT GREENWALD FILM, “UNCONSTITUTIONAL”
PREMIERES IN NASHVILLE on SEPTEMBER 14

Eli Richardson, anti-terrorism coordinator at the
Middle Tennessee US Attorneys Office to join in panel discussion to follow.

[Nashville]— The Tennessee premiere of Unconstitutional, scheduled for September 14 at the Belcourt Theatre, will be followed by a panel discussion featuring members of Nashville’s immigrant community and a representative from the United States Attorney's Office.

Eli Richardson, anti-terrorism coordinator at the US Attorney's Office for Middle Tennessee will discuss the film, which examines civil liberties violations since 9/11, along with Ms. Zainab Elberry, TN liaison to Arab-American Institute; Mohammed Ibrahim of the Kurdistan Cultural Institute; David Lubell, executive director of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition; and Dr. Amir Arain of the Islamic Center of Nashville.

In Unconstitutional, Greenwald focuses on the personal stories of real people and aims to reveal how paranoia, fear and racial profiling have led to gross infringements on freedom and democracy without strengthening national security. The discussion will bring a local focus to the issues raised and provide insight into what members of Nashville’s immigrant community have faced and continue to face with regards to civil liberties.

The one-hour film begins at the Belcourt Theatre at 7:00 p.m. The discussion follows at 8:00 p.m. Cost for the premiere screening and panel is $5.

The event is hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee.
