MEMPHIS – The Tennessee Coalition for Sensible Justice will host “Putting Justice in Our Justice System,” a panel discussion on criminal justice reform, on Tuesday, November 29 in Memphis.

Moderated by David Waters, columnist for The Commercial Appeal, the discussion will focus on problems with the current criminal justice system and strategies for change. Attendees will also learn how the public can become part of the movement for reform and support the passage of upcoming criminal justice initiatives in the legislature.

Confirmed panelists include Hannah Cox, outreach coordinator for the Beacon Center of Tennessee and Thomas H. Castelli, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee.

The panel discussion, presented in partnership with the USA TODAY NETWORK-Tennessee, will be held at the Raleigh Community Center in Memphis on Tuesday, November 29 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. It is free and open to the public.

The panel is the first of three events being held across the state by the Tennessee Coalition for Sensible Justice.

The Coalition for Sensible Justice, launched in September 2016, is a statewide, nonpartisan coalition committed to advancing criminal justice reform in Tennessee. Its goals include enhancing public safety, promoting rehabilitation and re-entry, and saving taxpayer dollars while creating a fair criminal justice system.
