The second year of the 114th General Assembly is underway.
Here at the ACLU of Tennessee, we are dedicated to working alongside legislators, partner organizations, and our supporters to protect our rights during the 2026 Legislative Session. We also work to defeat harmful legislation and connect lawmakers with Tennesseans directly affected by the bills they write. Together, we will build a thriving democracy in Tennessee and push for equity for all.
TAKE ACTION: OPPOSE HB 1250/SB 1041 The Chaplains in the Classroom Bill
Tennessee lawmakers are advancing HB 1250/SB 1041, legislation that would place chaplains in public schools to provide “support and services” to students, staff, and parents. Even trained chaplains oppose the move.
