Lucas Cameron-Vaughn is a senior staff attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee. Lucas joined the ACLU of Tennessee in 2022. Lucas is a passionate believer that the Constitution protects us all. He is the lead ACLU-TN attorney U.S. v. Skrmetti, the legal challenge to Tennessee’s ban on hormone therapy for transgender teenagers which was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court in December 2024.
Prior to working at the ACLU of Tennessee, Lucas represented clients in both criminal and civil legal matters affecting their constitutional rights -- including immigration. He also worked in the courts as a supervising attorney. Lucas has completed a clinical teaching fellowship in juvenile law and a fellowship in disabilities law. He's committed to defending the rights and liberties of all Tennesseans every day at the ACLU of Tennessee.
