Taking the fight to the 111th Tennessee General Assembly

On January 8, the Tennessee General Assembly reconvened in Nashville. ACLU-TN will be at the Capitol throughout the session to protect and advance your rights, but we need your help. Last year, your tenacious and insistent work to make sure legislators knew where you stood on freedom, justice and equality in Tennessee truly made a difference and we need to keep the pressure on.

Help us keep up the momentum by recruiting your friends and family to join our action network and stand up for civil liberties in Tennessee: Join ACLU-TN’s Action NetworkShare on Facebook | Share on Twitter

This year, we are pursuing pro-active initiatives to increase access to the ballot box; stop discrimination within the criminal justice system based on economic status; and reform the criminal justice system in the areas of mental health, reentry and juvenile justice — including continuing our years-long pursuit to end juvenile life without parole in Tennessee.

Just as we have always done, ACLU-TN is prepared to ensure that our newly elected and long-serving representatives uphold Tennessee’s values of justice and equality. We will also fight back against any attempts to harm immigrants and refugees, women, gay and transgender people, and racial and religious minorities.

We’re expecting a fast-paced and challenging legislative session and we need all hands on deck, ready to act: Join ACLU-TN’s Action Network | Share on Facebook | Share on Twitter

Thank you for standing with us during the upcoming legislative session. Together, we will advance justice and equality in Tennessee.
