A-list celebrities are throwing us a benefit on Facebook Live, and we hope you’ll log in and watch.
Some of entertainment’s biggest names have gotten together to throw us a little party tonight on Facebook, and everyone’s welcome to join in.
Tonight at 7 p.m. EDT, “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU” will stream on Facebook Live as a modern-day telethon. The benefit will feature appearances by such A-listers as Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Padma Lakshmi, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Uzo Aduba, Josh Charles, Amy Poehler, Zosia Mamet, Ike Barinholtz, and many more. Musical acts include a very special performance by Usher and The Roots, Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, and Jack Antonoff.
All the proceeds raised will go to what we do best: protecting the civil rights and liberties that truly make America great. Our work in the courts, in Congress and state legislatures, and in the streets is essential right now to hold off the worst of the Trump administration’s abuses. But it is also the collective will and tireless actions of “we the people” that serve as a bulwark against unconstitutional and wrong-headed policies and executive orders. By supporting our work through this telethon, we can fight even harder to defend the rights guaranteed by our Constitution.
Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU
The event is being executive produced by Friend of a Friend Productions in collaboration with The Huffington Post, Funny or Die, and Maggie Vision. It will broadcast live from New York City via the Facebook pages of Stand for Rights 2017, Funny or Die, and The Huffington Post. In addition, original videos produced by Funny Or Die will premiere throughout the broadcast and clips will be available on The Huffington Post after the event.
