Bio
David Warren, MBA, is the Director of Development at the ACLU of Tennessee, where he leads statewide fundraising and donor engagement strategies to protect and advance civil liberties. In this role, he works closely with individual supporters, foundations, and community partners to build sustainable resources that fuel advocacy and impact across the state.
David’s journey began at Morehouse College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and was immersed in the school’s long-standing tradition of service, leadership, and advocacy. He later earned his MBA from the University of Miami, gaining advanced expertise in business development and strategy, which he now applies to philanthropy and nonprofit growth.
Prior to joining the ACLU of Tennessee, David served as Planned Giving Advisor at WKNO Public Media and Fundraising Manager at Houston Public Media. In both roles, he exceeded fundraising goals by designing and leading multi-channel campaigns, cultivating high-value donors, and developing programs that built long-term organizational support. Earlier roles with KPRC NBC, the Houston Chronicle, and FedEx Services equipped him with expertise in strategic communication, consultative selling, and executive-level relationship management.
As a person of color, David deeply identifies with the ACLU’s mission to fight for equality and justice for all. He is passionate about helping donors align their giving with social change, ensuring their support makes a lasting difference for generations to come.
