ACLU-TN does not provide criminal defense, except in extremely rare circumstances. If you have been charged with a crime, your defense attorney is the best person to answer questions about due process and arrest procedures (use of search warrants, forced confessions, Miranda, entrapment, etc.). ACLU-TN's Police Brutality and Misconduct Resource Sheet reviews what law enforcement is allowed to do during an arrest, when an arrest can occur, the rules of being questioned by police, and details the process of submitting a complaint to internal affairs.
