MONITORING TEAM COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FORUM

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2019
6 - 7:30 P.M.

MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH
70 N. BELLEVUE, MEMPHIS, TN  38104

As a result of our successful lawsuit challenging the Memphis Police Department's surveillance activities, a federal judge imposed sanctions including requirements that the Memphis police department revise their policy on political intelligence, train officers, establish a process for approving criminal investigations that may incidentally result in gathering political intelligence, establish written guidelines for the use of social media searches, maintain a list of all search terms used in social media collators and submit the list to the court quarterly.

The court also appointed an independent monitor to supervise the implementation of these sanctions.

Learn more about the court order governing police surveillance in Memphis, what the team monitoring the Memphis police's surveillance activities has been working on, and what's next.

The complete agenda for the evening can be found here. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate.
