ACLU-TN’s annual fundraiser, “The Constitution Uncorked,” will be a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres, featuring a brief awards ceremony recognizing a lifelong champion of civil liberties and other activists carrying the torch of justice for the next generation.

We are excited to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to journalist Dwight Lewis, who has been a lifelong champion for justice in our state, using his voice to advance human rights and shine a public spotlight on social injustice and the disenfranchised.

We will also present the 2017 Benjamin S. Pressnell Bill of Rights Award to three young adults who represent the next generation of civil liberties leaders working toward social justice and fighting for the fair treatment of immigrants in their communities: Cesar Bautista, Jazmin Ramirez and Zacnité Vargas.

Guests will enjoy a special musical performance by Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Kim Richey.
