ACLU-TN works to ensure that every person can make the best decisions for themselves and their family about whether and when to have a child without undue political interference. Our work encompasses a wide range of issues, including securing age-appropriate sex education in our schools, fighting pregnancy discrimination in the workplace, and protecting an individual’s ability to make personal, private decisions about pregnancy and abortion.

The ACLU of Tennessee urged Governor Lee to veto SB 1971/HB 1895, which creates a new felony offense for anyone who “recruits, harbors or transports” a minor for the purpose of obtaining an abortion without the parent or legal guardian’s notarized consent.
